How to make Rava Laddu and is it easy?

It is one of the most easiest recipes to make. It has simple ingredients like Rava, Coconut, milk, ghee and nuts. This can also be done without coconut, but adding coconut gives great texture, aroma and taste to the Rava Ladoo recipe. As such, plain Rava is tasteless and dry. So you need other ingredients which are naturally tasty and juicy to make a good final recipe.

Also, you can do this without milk by just using ghee, but this recipe is with milk. Both differ in taste and you can try both based on your interest. Just make sure the milk is fresh.

Shelf Life of Rava Laddu

As mentioned above, the recipe of Rava Ladoo can be done by using or not using milk. So the shelf life of Rava Laddu depends on this. If milk is not used, definitely the life is longer, since there will not be any moisture content and all you need to do is store in an airtight container. It will last for weeks.

If you are using milk, you can use until 12 days and after that refrigerate, so that the taste remains good and is healthy enough.

Instructions
  1. Ingredients as below.

  2. Add 2 tbsp of Ghee into a frying pan and add the rava mix to it. Fry it in low flame until a light aroma comes and is completely dry (4 - 5 mins). Once done, set aside this into another container to cool down.
  3. Now in the same frying pan, simply add the grated coconut and fry again for 4 - 5 mins. The color should not change to brown. Do this with low flame since coconut can get burnt quickly and leaves a not so good taste if done. Add this fried coconut to the rava and mix completely.

  4. Add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder to rava and mix well. You can opt to add very little salt to this at this point (careful not to add a lot). A little salt actually enhances the tingly sensation in the sweet and offers a variation in the taste.
  5. Add 1 tbsp of ghee to the frying pan, add the nuts and raisin mixture and fry until it turns to golden brown. Add this to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
