The recipe is very simple and easy to make. Very simple set of ingredients, but just be careful when you do it, follow instructions to a “T” and you should have a tasty cream with you.

Key points to note while making the whipped cream at home

  • Make sure the fresh cream is cold and thick. Remove anything that is watery. It doesn’t go well with making the whipped cream.
  • Keep the bowls and cream cold, the cream will be better only in cold conditions.
  • Beat the fresh cream in intervals while checking consistently as suggested. Over beating could lead to butter.
  • The whipped cream could also be made using a hand whisker manually, but that is going to take a longer time to make and much harder, nevertheless – possible. Its a matter of time. You need to keep beating hard for 30 minutes at least.
  • How do you know the whipped cream is done?
    A simple and elegant way – Take a spoonful of cream from the bowl, turn it upside down. The cream should not fall from spoon. Once this consistency is achieved, you can stop.

Instructions
  1. Ingredients for your reference - simple enough. Chill the empty bowl in freezer for 30 minutes before preparation. The cream is whipped faster and better when the conditions are cold!

  2. Place the ice cubes in a bigger bowl and keep the chilled bowl (that we placed in refrigerator) on top of the ice cubes. Again as mentioned, we need the cream to be cold to whip better.

  3. From your fresh cream pack, take thick cream alone in to the chilled bowl. The pack is going to have some cream that is watery as well. Do not use that. Its important that the cream taken is very thick.
  4. The left over water from the cream pack can be refrigerated and used for other purposes where you need to add milk cream.

  5. Now keep the electric beater in the bowl which contains the fresh cream. Start whisking in medium speed. Slowly increase the speed and whisk for 5 mins. You will see that the froth starts forming slowly.

  6. Stop for 10 seconds and again whisk for 7-8 minutes at high speed. Keep checking the consistency at intervals.

  7. How do you know the whipped cream is done? A simple and elegant way - Take a spoonful of cream from the bowl, turn it upside down. The cream should not fall from spoon. Once this consistency is achieved, you can stop.

  • Make sure to use thick cream from you fresh cream pack. If water content is present, the whipped cream is not going to churn over.
  • The bowl needs to be chilled during beating of the cream.
