Tasty Dry Cabbage Manchurian Recipe – Delicious Holiday Snack

The Cabbage Manchurian Recipe is the first recipe in a series of summer holiday recipes that we have planned. So brace yourselves for some tongue tickling, mouth watering recipes.

Its the holiday season. Its Summer. Kids rule. And it means Snack Time!

This particular recipe came out beautifully that its lifetime on earth was 30 minutes. It was gobbled up as soon as it was placed on the plate and kids absolutely loved it.

Tasty Cabbage Manchurian Recipe
Cabbage Manchurian Recipe is a super delicious snack that can be done in a very quick time. This tastes delicious and is loved by one and all - especially kids. This is a indo-chinese combination, similar to the standard gobi manchurian, but tastes exquisite.

  • 1 cup Cabbage (grated)
  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Garam Masala
  • 1/4 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 tbsp Jeera Powder
  • 3 tbsp corn flour
  • 3 tbsp Maida (all purpose flour)
  • 1 tbsp Salt (add as required)
  • 3 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)
  • 3 tbsp Green Capsicum Pieces
  • 3 tbsp Sliced Onion
  • 2 tbsp Light Soya Sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp Chilli Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 cup Oil (for frying)
  • 5 pieces Curry leaves

  2. This is a quick recipe. So pour the one cup oil into frying pan and start heating the pan by placing it on the stove.
Getting the Manchurian Mix ready
  1. Add the cabbage in a mixing bowl and add chilli powder.
    Step 1
  2. Now add jeera powder and garam masala to the bowl and mix.
    Step 2
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and salt to this and mix again thoroughly.
    Step 3
  4. This step is important. Add corn flour and maida (all purpose flour) to the mix and very little water and mix well. Keep adding little water while making the mix/dough, but make sure not to add too much water.

  5. The cabbage manchurian dough just before frying!
Getting the cabbage frys ready
  1. Make small balls of this cabbage mix and have them ready. Once the oil is hot for frying, move the stove to medium flame and drop the balls into oil to fry.

  2. Add the balls into the pan and start frying them. Depending on the size of the pan, place number of balls to fry appropriately.
    Step 7
  3. After 2 to 3 minutes, turn all the frying balls over in the oil so that all sides gets fried uniformly. Wait until the color of the balls changes to golden brown - which indicates the balls have fried enough. Then move these fried balls into a separate bowl.

Preparing the Manchurian base
  1. In a frying pan, add 2 tbsp oil and heat. Add chopped onions and fry until the onion turns light brown. Now add chopped capsicum, curry leaves to this and keep frying in low flame.

  2. Cook this for 2 to 3 minutes so that everything gets mixed well.
    Step 10
  3. Now add soya sauce, chilli sauce and tomato ketchup to the pan and mix thoroughly in low flame.

  4. Saute for 2 minutes.

  5. Now add little water. Make sure not to add more else this will reduce the taste. Water is used to just make sure the mix gets that gravy feel. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes again.

Finishing the Dish!
  1. Add all the fried cabbage to the pan now and mix. Then cook for another 3 minutes so that everything gets flavored completely.

  2. Move to a plate and garnish with some coriander leaves. The Yummy Dish is ready to taste now!
