  • 10 pieces Pista (broken)
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch Saffron (for color and texture)
  • 1 pinch Cardamom powder (this is optional)
Instructions
  1. Ingredients for this dish is as below.
  2. Boil the milk in a container, the milk should be rich and creamy to get the best taste. Toned milk will not provide the required flavor.
  3. Once boiled, reduce the flame to medium so that the milk keeps boiling. Now add the nuts (cashews, almonds and pista), sugar and the pinch of saffron. Saffron should be just a pinch and not more than that. Do not add cardamom now.
  4. Now keep stirring this mixture in medium flame until the milk reduces to half its original quantity and becomes thick. This might take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Keep stirring at intervals, so that the sweet should not burn at the bottom. Keep scrapping and adding the milk solids and cream collected on the side and top of the milk.
  5. Once its done, you can add the cardamom powder if needed. This is optional. Similarly, if you only have toned milk and not fat milk, you can prepare a paste of cashew (grind cashew in a mixer with little milk to form a paste) and add this to the flavored milk and it regains the required thickness. The recipe is ready, you can have it hot or cold!
