Hash Browns Recipe – This super delicious breakfast or snack is one of the most famous potato recipes that can be made easy and quick!

Hash Browns

Hash Browns are very easy to make. They work very well as a morning breakfast or an evening snack!

How This Hash Brown Recipe Method Works

There are many ways to make the Hash Brown Potato Recipe, what we have here is a sort of fusion. The American way along with Indian Masala!

For example, we add the typical All Purpose Flour, Corn Flour, and some Rice Flour to make the Hash Browns extra crispy!

We also add the regular masala like Chilli Powder and Garlic for additional taste.

Also, some Hash Browns are oven cooked, but we deep fry in oil here.

The best thing about this method is, you can determine the way you want it to taste – if you need it to be spicy, add move Chilli or Pepper powder, if you want it tangy – more garlic, and so on!

How to Remove Starch From Potato

One thing that is common across all Hash Brown recipes is the removal of surface starch from the potatoes.

Potatoes are extremely rich in starch, which means they are high in carbohydrates!

Not ideal 🙂

It is best to remove a good amount of starch from it so that it reduces the carbohydrate.

Also, high starch potatoes make them soft on cooking, and we need the Hash Browns crispy! 🙂

Remove the starch when you want to cook crispy potato dishes, such as chips, French fries or hash browns!

The starch is removed by soaking shredded potatoes in cold water (soaking without shredding or cutting doesn’t help). Rinse after soaking and remove the water.

Then move the shredded potato into a cotton cloth and then squeeze them to dry to remove extra moisture and starch! The details with pictures are shown in the instructions!
